Everyone knows how healthy fresh vegetables and fruits are. This is true, but not everyone can eat them. It’s important to follow some simple rules.

Of course, seasonal fruits and vegetables, rich in healthy fiber and all kinds of vitamins, are the best we can offer our bodies. But in order for them to be useful, you need to understand what suits you and what does not. We all know about the benefits of fiber from vegetables and fruits, which gently cleanses the intestines, improves digestion, normalizes microflora and even promotes weight loss. However, in some cases, coarse fiber can do much harm.

For example, in inflammatory diseases of the colon, fiber can cause discomfort and abdominal pain. Most raw vegetables should not be consumed in cases of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as gastritis with high acidity. This, in particular, zucchini, carrots, cabbage, turnips, peppers and even fresh cucumbers.

Many fruits and vegetables have a laxative effect. Among them: cucumbers, plums and beets. And if a healthy intestine perceives these products normally, then with certain problems there can be diarrhea. Perhaps there are diseases that you do not know about and diarrhea when eating raw vegetables and fruits is definitely an alarm. These can be inflammatory processes of the gastrointestinal tract, about which you were not even aware. Conversely, people who are prone to constipation should use blueberries, quinces, pears with caution, as they complicate the digestive processes.

If you experience discomfort or pain when eating raw vegetables and fruits, grind them on a blender and use them in mashed potatoes. If this does not help, you will have to switch to steam, boiled or baked vegetables. The best option in this case is to steam, because the fruits retain the maximum benefit. And fruits with a “hypersensitive” stomach are better to use either very soft, or in the form of jelly and stewed fruit.

Moreover, with certain diseases, some vegetables are not useful even when cooked. For example, with kidney stones and gout, chronic colitis, an ulcer, you should not eat spinach and green salad. With cholecystitis, tomatoes can not be, and with pancreatitis, hepatitis and inflammation of the stomach and intestines, turnip, radish and green onions are contraindicated. Garlic and onions can trigger seizures in acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and kidneys. Parsley is contraindicated in nephritis, acute cystitis and gout, and dill lowers blood pressure.

For each fruit, there are also a number of contraindications. Therefore, if you know or suspect that you have health problems, before eating any raw vegetable or fruit, check out its possible “side effects”.

Plus, do not forget that fruits should not be eaten after meals, for dessert, as we are used to, but either two hours before meals, as an independent meal, or at least two hours after the last meal. If you mix basic food with fruit, flatulence, bloating and digestive problems are provided. This is especially true for melons, which are very heavy for the stomach.

It is better not to use fresh fruits on an empty stomach for people with stomach ulcer, duodenal ulcer and acute gastritis. In general, with an exacerbation of any diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, fresh fruits and berries cannot be eaten.

Excessive consumption of coarse fiber can harm even a healthy person. With a traditional menu, the optimal amount of fruits and vegetables is up to one kilogram per day. So you get all the necessary vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber for health. If you eat much more, flatulence and bloating can occur, accompanied by pain. In addition, if there is too much fiber, vitamins and trace elements are less absorbed. So instead of saturating the body with vitamins, on the contrary, you will actively remove them.

I am often asked whether it is possible to lose weight on fruits. You can, if you include them in the fruit unloading menu. When the basis of the diet is fresh and cooked non-starchy vegetables and herbs and a certain proportion of fruits. But such unloading is not suitable for everyone and unloading menus should be compiled exclusively individually.

Keep in mind that glucose and fructose from fruits are the same sugar, they just do not cause sudden spikes in blood sugar. Plus, fruits are rich in vitamins and fiber. If you want to lose weight, sweet fruits should be consumed in small portions (up to 600 grams) in the morning. Unsweetened eat in small quantities (300 grams) during the day as a snack, two hours before a meal or two hours after a meal. And if you want to lose weight quickly, in the evening it is better to give up any fruit.
